Choosing The Right Baby Changing Table

Deciding on what furniture to buy can be quite overwhelming for the new parent to-be.  There are many choices to be made as to design, style and theme.  There is also the decision to be made as to what kinds of furniture will be needed in the baby's room.  If being on a budget is a major consideration, Sometimes it may not be possible to purchase all the furniture at one time.  However, the choosing of the right baby changing table should be at the top of your list.

There are of variety of different styles of changing tables.  They come in many different shapes and sizes, and each offer their own set of accessories.  First of all, there is the standalone changing table.  Then there is the combination dresser / changing table and also, the combination crib / changing table set.  All three offer the accessibility and comfort needed for the task of changing your baby's diapers, but deciding on which to choose would depend on your budget, the size of the room and if you have a particular theme set for your baby's nursery.

changingtable2The standalone changing table is practical and can be easily  positioned or moved anywhere in the room.  It comes with shelves and dividers for the placing and storing of diapers and other essentials.  It is very compact and small, and if need be can be moved to other parts of the house  with ease.

The dresser combo changing table is a more sturdier piece of furniture.changingtable3 Sometimes referred to as a convertible change table, this style is somewhat taller than the standalone style. it also has shelving  for storing the necessities and drawers for wardrobe items. the top of the dresser can have a wrap-around border where a change pad would fit.

crib-changer-comboThe third choice is the crib / changing table combination.  This is a much bulkier piece of furniture since the changing table may be attached to the crib itself.  Some styles offer a removable changing table that can be detached and moved to a desired location. Other styles offer a crib and dresser combination, but these are much more stationery.

Whatever style of baby furniture changing table is chosen, it is important that the safety and comfort of the baby and you is taken into consideration.  The changing table should be the right height for you and have enough working space to handle the job at hand.  Ultimately the decision is yours, since it is basically a matter of choice.  At least now you can make an informed decision as to what will work best for you and your baby.
