Anyone else afraid of used baby furniture and accesories?

Everyone keeps telling em to buy my furniture second hadn and borrow as much stuff as possible. I'm fine accepting my sisters diaper genie that was ahrdly used (her daughter died at 20 days), but I don't like the thought of buying a used crib and whateevr else I'm "supposed" to get second hand. I know not to spend alot of money on clothes and toys but I want nice brand new fresh from teh factory strollers and furniture. Am I the only one who feels that way?

I think buying or "borrowing" items from family members or close friends is okay, but there is no way I would let my child share the same furniture as some complete stranger. Who knows what they could have done with it? At least with family members and close friends you know whether or not they value cleanliness.

Then again, I may just be overreacting. I am, after all, borderline obsessive compulsive lol.
